History of AWG
ASIFA Workshops Group (AWG) is an organization within ASIFA that facilitates cross-cultural coöperation and animation projects for children worldwide, including screenings at many of the major international animation film festivals. With so many animation techniques available, it is possible for anyone to find success in animation, whatever their age and intellectual ability. Animation is also appropriate for people with learning disabilities, social and behavioural problems, and it teaches us how to work together on the same project.
In AWG, since 1979, a variety of themes has been chosen regularly to promote expression and creativity among children as well as encourage them to search for their own cultural roots.AWG keeps its independence from ASIFA, although it is the most active Group in ASIFA. Thanks to all the instructors who dedicate themselves to communicate their passion of animation to the children.
